how do I find line 725 column 18 in my code

how do I find line 725 column 18 in my code, When the code has no line numbers ... Dah

Error builder gives me an error, saying it's in line 725 column 18. If my code has no line numbers how am I supose to find it

If you are using visual basic.net 2005/2008 you can go to Tools >> Options... >> Text Editor Basic >> Editor and click the line numbers checkbox. Hit ok and you should see line numbers. If you are using another editor, you just have to turn on line numbering in that application so that it will see numbers.

If you are using an editor that does not have line numbering, either check the status bar when you click around and see if it shows a row and column number (like when you turn on the status bar view in notepad) or get yourself an editor that has numbering.

That should then help you diagnose the problem by seeing which line it is referring too.

As a shortcut if you are using VS, then you can simply double click the error message located in the "Error" tab and it will take you right to where the error is located in your code.
