Wouldn't google think your trying to google bomb, if you had your site's url in your sig, and had about 400 post's on a forum?

Typically Google is pretty good about detecting that situation. Several links going to one location from one site. This would be the same as someone putting a link thousands of times on one page. From what I understand this doesn't figure into PageRank as much as you would think. The formula itself is said to have over 700 different variables for determining value of a page.

The value of a page is more built on which sites reference your site, not how many times they reference your site. 1000 mentions or 1 mention, same value usually.

Most forums issue a nofollow, so it doesn't effect your Google rank anyhow.
