Most magazine salary surveys seem to be BS. I was once in an Oracle class where the instructor put a number in board and said according to Oracle Corp DBAs can expect this salary There was a moment of silence as we all looked at each other. Then an uncertain laugher, "yeah, right, everyone knows those numbers sell classes and certs."
As Lead and "Director of IT" (funny title for a company with 11 employees LOL) I make above the average salary (I'm one of the ones that scew(sp) salary averages/surveys).
