Hey all.

I am in the process of finding a good web host. I have narrowed it down to 1&1 or Host Gator (I am on a tight budget). I was just wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on them.

Thanks,
ITDemo.

Thanks for the reply but it is 5.95 if you pay for 10 years but I don't think I want it that long.
Sorry sad.gif

Try googling for "Dreamhost promo code" - there are a lot of codes out that can get you much sweeter deals.

Mine also has a save $50.00 NYKC_50 can be found at www.nykcstudios.com

And I pay 9.95 a month - I think they even offer cheaper plans now.

Regardless of what promo code you land, you would be insane to not use Dreamhost.

I am in that same boat lol. I don't even think I used that much. You must have a lot of projects going on there.

I think it is 7.95 now, but it also seems like the older plan has better offerings. Or maybe I too am just too lazy to change it.

All I can say and I am sure everyone who uses dreamhost will concur, besides being ridiculously easy to use, and all the cool one click installs and even the ability to use almost any type of Open Source software you wish - for people on a tight budget or those who enjoy great flexibility and just want the best bang for their buck there is not a better host than Dreamhost.

Hell they even have "GREEN HOSTING" Whatever the hell that means.

I know a lot of people that used other hosts, and I heard countless hours of bitching from them, several of them switched to Dreamhost and love it.
I also know people that use Dreamhost and bitch because there website was down for 15 minutes 1 day - I mean all of 5 people that frequented the site were deprived for 15 minutes.

Either way, I have ran Blogs, ECommerce and CMS sites with no issues, I have been with them since 2005 and they have been very reliable.

I personally use ASPNIX, then again I create & host .Net sites, though they do support PHP 4, PHP 5 and mySQL on my current account. I pay $14.00 a month combined for the 3 sites I have hosted there, and have yet to come close to using the bandwidth I get (1.5 TB) or the disk space I get for that monthly cost (2.5 GB). So I'm pretty happy for the $14 I pay a month smile.gif

sorry to correct you but it says this:

This promotion code will get you $90 off if you sign up for any yearly or two year plan. DreamHost also waives the $49.95 setup fee for these commitments.
