It goes something like this... you hear that kid in your CS121 class complaining about how the teacher sucks and how he can't figure out the homework. Tell him about DIC.

Or your co-worker (one you haven't bitched about in the forums wink2.gif) keeps pestering YOU for answers to his silly questions. Tell him about DIC.

Or the homeless guy on the corner has a sign that says "Will work for food", tell him about DIC.

Or possibly, the CEO of Sun Microsystems runs in to you at lunch and asks what the #1 programming help community on the net is. Of course, you tell him about DIC.

Soooo, this thread is for posting "I told so and so about DIC" and if they register and you know their username, show them some love smile.gif

I'll go first. A couple weeks ago I told the Regional Vice President of Comcast about DIC. Turns out he was already a member. Sweet! (You can follow him on Twitter if you're interested: @comcastscott)

Your turn... who'd you tell?

I told my network administrator at work who does website programming on the side. He showed interest in it and may or may not have signed up already. I am sure he will keep it in mind when he gets in his next tough jam.

Edit: I also tell people indirectly through my profile on Yahoo Answers where I am Canada's top ranked programming and design answerer. I even provide a link to the site and tell them how to find me here.

I have told a few of my compadres here at work that do a lot of web developement in both Unix and Windows platforms.

Not sure if they have registered (couldn't just stand over their shoulder while they checked it out) but they seemed interested. They expressed that DIC would definately be a great resource for those stubborn programming roadblocks!

Way ahead of you on that. This site is amazing and people can learn so much from as I myself have. So I told,
The guy who does the IT work in our building the web programmer down the hall and a friend from college who is majoring in computer science. biggrin.gif I will make sure to tell all the people interested.

I told one of my programming instructors at college. I don't know if he signed up or not.
I will tell others if they seem interested in programming.

Talked about it with a couple of friends, some seemed interested, some told me they already knew about it. I am not sure, if they are just lurking around, or any of them signed up...

Unfortunately I do not know any programmers personally. I am going back to school this fall (CNM) and will meet some and I will definitely let them know about DIC. This website has helped me understand many things and I am very grateful to ALL the people that take the time to help me and others here on DIC. Thanks for putting this website together Chris!

I've always found the DIC flyer to be useful. I still have some in my trunk from when I ran around the local community college, sticking them to the walls.

I know my co-worker and most of my friends have an account here. However, I'm kinda glad they aren't around much as there could be a conflict of interest. (I could only imagine if some of my work rants were stumbled upon...)

When you refer someone you have to make sure to call the website "Dic", Use it in a sentience like "I Love Dic, it's my favorite thing to do in my free time."

I've thought about wearing my DIC shirt during a bank robbery. That should get you a lot of traffic via the 11 O'clock news.

QUOTE
The suspect can be seen wearing a bright-orange shirt that displays "Dream In Code". While we are not currently clear as to the connections of this internet phenomenon & the current string of bank robberies, one thing is for certain : Always use code tags where necessary. Back to you in the studio Tom.
