hello,
i want to put a folder on my webspace as ftp so that any one can download that file.
now when i see them using ftp on webbrowser it is asking for username/password.
i dont want the webbrowser to ask for username/password to view those files as ftp.
only that folder only not remaining content on my webspace.

If you would like your visitors to download a file/folder, you should just link to the file or zipped folder. You should not have your visitors use FTP. Otherwise, I suppose you could set up an anonymous account on your FTP...but that wouldn't be very safe.

what OS are you using? if you have a local machine that is running an FTP server you might not want to allow anonymous FTP access...

if you absolutely want people to have to go through the process of connecting to your FTP server just to download a file, all you would need to do is allow guest accounts.

if you have a web server that has cPanel enabled you can set up anonymous access through the "FTP Accounts" section

any more questions? just ask!

Just write a page, where you link to your file you want the visitors to download it. biggrin.gif
