Me and my friend are making an online text-based RTS.. nothing much works at the moment, but I would like to test the integrity of the actual design under different resolutions/browsers.
Site: Brainfood

Any things that can improved? Any display errors that appear? Any way that the code might be improved?
Be honest please.

(Note: the actual design was made by another friend of mine, I just coded it).

Viewed on FF3 with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Both the boxes on the left and on the right seems to need some whitespace around the wording. The text is crammed into the boxes and not looking very clean. Also I noticed you have something coming from analytics.hosting24.com or something like that which was taking forever to load.

Overall look is a bit drab and could use a little more color to punch it up a little. Also I see a big gaping hole in the upper left where it looks like you may be ready to put some more branding material which will help level out the page (the large logo on the right weights the page a bit).

It is a nice start and after making some improvements with what I mentioned it will look pretty nice.

The analytics is just a site statistics tracker (if it lags that much, then I'll probably remove it).
I get what you mean about the whitespace, you're right, i'll need to pad it out a little to make it look nicer.

The upper left hole is actually put to good use - first of all, if you click "login", the login box appears in that area. Additionally, if you view the site using IE6, a warning appears that the site may not look/layout properly due to me using transparent PNGs. Additionally, once logged in, that area holds both the user's basic stats such as food and population, but also warning messages that will appear when, for example, you're being attacked, or you don't have enough food to feed your people. (Try registering the logging in, maybe it won't look so empty).

Thanks for the feedback though.

EDIT: Seems the analytics.hosting24.com is the tracker my free hosting server puts into every page =/. Unfortunately, I can't actually edit it out.

The only thing I would add / re-iterate to Martyr's comments would be the word 'blue'. There's a lot of it. I would go back to your friend who designed it and as him to punch some colour into it. Padding would help the readability and I would add something below the panel on the right to give the page balance.

All in all, a few simple changes to the CSS and graphics, and that site will look great.

Your forms need cleaning up, maybe a class for your buttons and evenly placed text boxes. Like the logo in the top right, brings everything together. All in all, nice job with the design!

Thanks for the reply.

The the forms are nowhere near complete.. there will be at least another 10 things i'd like to put in there, including code verification and etc.
